Jennie Speirs Grant is an Anglo/Scottish European artist, born in Edinburgh (1963) working primarily between England and Scotland and regularly traversing the Scottish/English Border.

Trained in Drawing, Fine Art, Sculpture and Glass at Edinburgh College of Art, York College of Arts & Technology, University of Northumbria and University of Sunderland, National Glass Centre.
Several important awards in sculpture include The Fredericke Bushe Sculpture Bursary and an early career bursary from the Royal Society of Sculptors.
She holds a PhD from the Unversity of Sunderland in the field of studio glass and contemporary drawing.
Her practice encompasses sculpture, cast glass, material object, installation, drawing, print and environmental works.
This is approached from a studio base, informed by material, theoretical and academic research, regular fieldwork and contextual residencies in non arts settings.

A founder member of Armstrong Studio Trust, Newcastle upon Tyne, established in 1985 to provide affordable workspace and opportunities, training and mentoring for fine artists.
